Gated Fuzz
From the Workbench at Berserker Electronics:
Meet the Velcrow – Controlled Chaos In A Box
Some gated fuzzes feel like they are fighting you. Explosive, unpredictable, and full of attitude, but not always easy to shape into something usable. They have a voice, sure, but not much of a vocabulary.
Velcrow is my take on that ripping, clamp-tight fuzz sound that feels like it is about to fall apart, yet stays musical enough to actually use. It captures the sputtering chaos of those cult-favorite gated circuits, then expands the range with higher headroom, more output, and a wider sweep of usable textures.
Built on a reimagined Tonebender MkIII foundation, Velcrow keeps the transistor abuse that gives classic gated fuzz its unmistakable bite, but refines the response for clarity, balance, and control. It can snarl, spit, and choke out in all the right ways, while still cutting through a mix.
The controls are straightforward but powerful:
Velcrow is not a polite fuzz. It is not vintage-correct. It is a fuzz that can sit at the edge of control or slam the gate shut with total authority. From tight and spitty to fully choked-out collapse, it gives you the full vocabulary of gated destruction.
